Florida’s strong
job growth continues as the state added 255,100 jobs over the year
2005 in November, growing at 3.4 percent, more than twice the national
rate.
The national rate
of growth was 1.5 percent for the same period. Based on the latest
available data, Florida leads the nation in the number of new jobs
created and has the lowest unemployment rate of the ten most populous
states.
The state’s
seasonally adjusted November 2005 unemployment rate was 3.6 percent,
relatively unchanged from the revised rate of 3.5 percent in October
and down by 1.1 percentage points from 4.7 percent a year ago.
Florida's
seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November 2005 of 3.6 percent
was 1.4 percentage points lower than the national rate of 5.0 percent
and relatively unchanged from the previous month.
Florida continues
to see the rate of job growth exceed other comparable states.
Based on data from
October 2005, the latest month for which comparable data are available
from other states, Florida led all states in the number of new jobs
created and had the fastest rate of annual job growth among the 10
most populous states. |
